New And Efficient Airfield Visual Aids

The developments in aviation technology has enabled a lot of companies to develop energy efficient devices which can be installed in many airports in order to facilitate their smooth and accident free functioning. It is very important to have a user friendly and efficient obstruction lighting systems like runway or taxiway lights, signal lights etc which can provide the pilot or other airmen with reliable and error free signals at all times.Aviation Light

There are certain standards with which lighting systems of such importance must comply. Such standards include ‘ICAO’ and ‘CAP16’ compliance. In addition to these, they must be in compliance with CAT 3, a standard which makes sure that they are able to provide the most reliable information at all the times.

The ‘ZA126L’ is one such visual aiding light technology that has been developed by ‘ATG’. It is very different as compared to the present ‘incandescent’ equipments being used. It involves four ‘Luxeon’ LED’s which uses only about three to four watts of power and helps in energy conservation up to seventy percent.

The life period of such a highly efficient visual aid technology is considered to be about 40,000 to 45,000 hour, which means that it can run continuously for a very long time and requires much less maintenance. The technology can be used as embedded fixtures along the entire length of a runway.

The product also comes with a special function which allows it to be added up with various number of electrical connections present or working in the same area like a runway stop bar, in order to provide for a fool-proof functioning of the airfield in an efficient manner. This new technology is attracting attention from all quarters in the aviation business and has been installed successfully at many international airports across the world.
